Oblivion by Soma Parfums is a fragrance for Women & Men

With Oblivion I wanted to create something that’s unique smelling but still mass appealing enough for people who aren’t used to niche fragrances. Massive compliments to our French perfumer, it was a difficult task due to the constant tweaks and changes we had to make to create this blend that perfectly suits my taste after months of fine-tuning.

Oblivion is a sweet and fresh unisex fragrance that unfolds with a burst of zesty freshness, featuring vibrant top notes of ginger, bergamot, and lemon, with the calming aromatic touch of lavender and a subtle hint of rum. As the fragrance evolves, the heart notes emerge in a sweet and warming embrace, showcasing the floral elegance of jasmine, the richness of soft and smooth honey, and the spicy allure of cinnamon.

Vanilla was a must because I wanted an enchanting base. Where the indulgent blend of vanilla imparts a spicy sweet depth, while the rich & warm tones of tobacco add complexity. The composition reaches it’s peak intensity with the warm, slightly ambery, and musky essence of Ambroxan which perfectly blends with the vanilla for an amazing sweet projection and it also enhances longevity.

Oblivion is a sensory experience with gourmandish aspects that seamlessly weaves together sweet, fresh, zesty, aromatic, boozy, and warm-spicy elements, leaving an unforgettable scent trail. Perfect for any occasion! Extrait de parfum concentration.

This is great

This scent is amazing. I blind bought it and had my doubts, but wow, what a beautiful surprise. Oh and also, it’s not similar to Naxos at all, it’s unique and unisex. My boyfriend loves it too.

Powdery Naxos

Oblivion is a one to one clone of Naxos minus the tobacco and slightly more powdery. If that's all you need to know to want it, then by all means get it.

I would recommend sticking with Naxos since they are priced the same. Especially if you like the hint of tobacco. And if you already own Naxos, Oblivion is the pinnacle definition of redundancy despite their one subtle difference.

If this was an affordable dup I would give it 5 stars. If Naxos didn't exist, I would give this 5 stars. But, with how close this is to Naxos without any ode to the original, it feels like plagiarism. All while pricing itself at the same premium per ml.

The ingredients and quality are there. That should be the bottom line but there's more to the story. I don't think they can afford to make this more affordable and don't want the status of mimicry either. It's too greedy, and it comes off as disingenuous. Alas, actions speak louder than words.

Serves its purpose wonderfully.

This is not meant to be the best fragrance in your collection. Nor is it meant to be the most unique. What it is meant to be is a mass appealing, signature scent (if you so choose) that performs well in sillage, projection, and longevity. If you want an easy reach that is higher quality than your typical department store designer, then I recommend checking this one out.
