Centauri
Centauri Perfumes is an independent fragrance house founded by self-taught perfumer Peter Carter and based in Yorkshire, England. The house was officially launched on 22 December 2019, with its debut timed to coincide with the winter solstice. Its fragrances are produced in small batches and are inspired by different periods of human history, from ancient civilizations to contemporary life and imagined futures. The collection is organized into three themes: Past, focused on ancient cultures and natural materials; Present, combining natural ingredients with modern aroma chemicals to reflect contemporary perfumery; and Future, emphasizing synthetic materials while exploring concepts of space, human progress, and cosmic exploration. The house's identity is further represented by an eight-pointed star derived from the ancient Sumerian symbol of Inanna, reflecting the connection between humanity, time, and the cosmos.
