“Chimphli” is a fragrance inspired by Thai mythology, weaving together the legend of Chimphli Abode—the celestial residence of Phaya Suban (the Garuda King)—and the kapok tree, a symbol of both sweetness and pain.
The Chimphli Abode is said to rest atop a towering kapok tree, bridging the human realm and the underworld. According to legend, Garudas draw their power from the nectar of kapok flowers, which grants them the strength to fulfill their divine duties. Without it, they would be too weak to act as protectors.
In Thai beliefs, kapok trees also play a role in the punishment of sinners in the underworld. These sinners are forced to climb thorny kapok trees while being tormented by the guardians of hell.
Kapok trees thrive in northern Thailand, their flowers ranging from red to orange, yellow, and white. Dried kapok stamens are used in local dishes such as Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao and Kaeng Khae. Meanwhile, kapok fibers are woven into textiles or stuffed into pillows and mattresses, valued for their breathability. The unique scent and taste of kapok nectar also make it a favored source for honey production.
Chimphli captures this rich heritage in a fragrance both enticing and multifaceted. It opens with the refreshing zest of Lemon and Pink Pepper, mingling with the intoxicating warmth of Jamaican Rum.
