By the Fireplace by Maison Martin Margiela is a Woody fragrance for women and men.
By the Fireplace is a member of the Replica collection made by Givaudan perfumer Marie Salamagne. It is a tribute to the comfortable fireplace moments and evoking the joy of grilling yummy chestnuts on the wood fire. A perfect choice to melt the winter snow outside. A cozy, and at the same time vibrant, the scent of juniper berries and wild red berries that register for crackling fire smoke, mates the roasted chestnuts. This intriguing introduction is paired with guaiac wood, cashmere wood, and cloves, and dries down in sweet vanilla that reassures the delight of the happy time by the fireplace.

I just want to crawl into the bottle! Do you make lotions too? Love it!
Cabin in the woods, steamy hot chocolate, clove candles burning at the door, snow storm shaking the trees outside.. you're skin to skin with someone, sitting by the fireplace under a thin blanket. Your hair smells like this the rest of the evening and it makes you blush and smile. That's what it gives!

At first, this scent took me by surprise. The campfire smoke was not what I expected or looking for but I couldn't stop sniffing my arm. It leaves me with a warm fuzzy feeling and I've realized I reach for this when I want to be comforted.
The last time I wore it, it smelled a lot more vanilla than usual so it's possible that this might continue to evolve on my skin.
Ps. I ended up buying a larger size.
