Better than it ought to be

Scents from Frédéric Malle are like a man’s Tiffany wedding band: exquisitely crafted, wildly expensive, impeccably tasteful—and utterly forgettable. They’re designed for discretion, not distinction. Beautiful, yes. Memorable? Rarely.

The Night, however, is the exception—and Malle’s true masterpiece. It’s the best oud I’ve ever encountered, likely because it’s the real deal, which also explains the astronomical price. Unlike Portrait of a Lady, which never quite earns its reputation, Night fully delivers: ferociously animalic in all the right ways. It’s barnyard and wood, tamed and elevated by subtle layers of rose and sandalwood.

I have a couple of decants, and they’ll have to last me a lifetime—because if I’m dropping that kind of cash, it’s going to be on Silence the Sea, but I don't regret buying the decants and will save them for dinner at Gallatoires.

I love it and renew my decant time to time. it is pricey, but i like to go back to it. The Night is the best in 3-6 hours, it is very smooth and mesmerizing and not offensive.

Is it weird to call a fragrance challenging? That’s the most truthful way for me to describe this one. And I LOVE that about it. HATED it at first and now I feel completely bewitched by it. The Night is a symphony. A masterpiece.

It's very dark, moody and sensual. Not for the faint of heart and average fragrance client. An amazing scent journey from a great nose.

Okay I’ve heard so many reviews on this smells like pure sh!t but I have many different types of real oud oils and when I sprayed this I can honestly say that it’s quality and the dry down is amazing ppl that is use to the synthetic western ouds are probably not gonna like it but maybe all the negative reviews is because of the price idk but this is definitely a great fragrance AAA+ in my books

It starts out with quite a pungent smell, but settles nicely and is long lasting. Is it worth the money for a full bottle? Absolutely not. But I was curious and the 1 ML bottle was enough for me.
