As with several of Sarah McCartney's signature fragrances, What I Did On My Holidays was inspired by a character in one of McCartney's novels, in this case a teenage girl on holiday with her family at the British seaside. Fans of the brand will surely recognize that 4160 Tuesdays already has a "UK beach holiday" themed scent, but while Sunshine & Pancakes was rich with a variety of creatively evocative notes like jasmine and lemon, What I Did On My Holidays takes aim squarely at the real smells of a boardwalk-laced English holiday area: the kind full of chip shops, clanging arcade rides, and blissfully happy families. Creamy suntan lotion, brisk sea air, peppermint, cotton candy, and vanilla ice cream- there's a lot going on here, but it all combines into one perfectly relaxing, completely lovely day at the beach.
