    Wonderoud by Comme des Garcons is an Amber Woody fragrance for women and men. 

     

    Wonderoud is an eccentric interpretation of oud wood that devalues all the prewritten merits of this precious wood of the East and rewrites the capabilities of oud wood in the center with Texas cedarwood, Indonesian patchouli, Australian sandalwood, guaiac wood, and the most prominent member Haitian vetiver. A crisp irregular oud wood that instantly announces its presence from a distance.

    Woodsy for sure

    Really like this one, super interesting. The cedarwood pops right out as soon as it dries on your skin and that's exactly what I was hoping for. I'm hoping the vetiver comes out more later because I literally just sprayed it on myself. Super fast shipping too, got here in two days once tracking generated.

    I got the original Wonderwood and Wonderoud. To me they didn't smell woody but two different people I asked to describe the scent said I either smelled like "fresh tissue paper" and one said like "paper and pencils"..well paper is made out of wood so I guess the scent was spot on? Wonderoud was noted as smelling more woody by others to me the oud was loud whereas Wonderwood was noted for being softer. The oud in wonderoud makes it lean more masculine as thats what you expect from a mens cologne yet I do think a woman could get away with it solo or as a layer to add more depth to a feminine perfume. Wonderwood feels unisex (a Gypsy Water fan) the more it dries down. The initial spray is very peppery and screams mens cologne but after an hour or so it softens down to something that smells a little sweet and "woody" with hints of pepper. I liked the sandalwood note in this and its what made this one softer than the Wonderoud edition imo. Note, I am a woman who enjoys the smell of Home Depot and was looking for something that smelled woody or papery to wear layered with something something else floral or sweet.

    Phenomenal frag, the only oud based fragrance I've tried that I've liked

    Give it a shot if you're not particularly big on ouds.
