    Vanille Antique by Byredo is an Amber Woody fragrance for women and men.
    Like all Byredo deliveries, Vanille Antique is composed of noble raw ingredients with meticulous care. In this fragrance, raw and pure vanilla with its smoky and ambery scent is deepened with a brush of gothic plum and musk to turn into an unexpected ancient gem. With strong woody chords and a slash of labdanum, the vanilla is nuanced towards an intoxicating and provocative depth.

    This is a beautiful vanilla. It is aptly named because it pulls for an "old west" kind of vibe.

    I love complex vanilla concoctions that don't smell like a teenager would wear it. Upon first spray, I get a lovely whiff of boozy vanilla and tobacco (not cigarette tobacco, but the fresh tobacco your dad kept in his humidor for his pipe). The opening is very reminiscent of Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille. However, about 30 minutes after application, the amber and wood push aside the lovely, sweet vanilla. So for hours, you've got amber and wood. The amber smell is very heavy. Actually the amber and wood fragrance reminds me of another scent out there today...only wish I could remember what it is. This Byredo fragrance is far more long lasting than most of their other offerings. I'd say this is probably a unisex fragrance and would be better to wear in the Fall and Winter seasons. It's a cozy smell but just not that unique.
