Lipstick On

Very overpriced but the seller is smart. It’s discontinued so they’re taking advantage of people who really want this scent. Would give 5 if price was more fair.

it smells very much vintage and one of those signature old lady perfumey scents

I was not sure how I would feel about this one but I ended up loving it and bought a whole bottle based off the sample. On my skin it smells like a leathery, powdery Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper. Longevity was pretty good with moderate projection

When I first discovered this perfume, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it. Based on the notes it sounded like something I would enjoy, but then I saw it described as a powdery floral...I was worried that it would be too floral or too “perfumy”...It was neither. It starts of as a light floral, but it is not a perfumy floral or a grandma floral...but the dry down is amazing. It turns into a light gourmand. The tonka bean and vanilla really come alive, but it still keeps that hint of ‘waxiness’, hence the name. I always said I would never spend a large sum on an EDT, but I plan on purchasing a full bottle of this in the very near future. It is beautiful and light enough for every day, but still very distinct.

This scent is authentic to the name, lipstick and vintage makeup smell. However I had hoped it would have a sweet or flowery note to break the powderiness but it lacked it. I like the similar scent of Etat libre Putain de Palaces much better.

The scent was great, almost exactly was I expected and it convinced me to buy a full bottle. However the container it was in was lacking and unfit for any kind of travel use.

Lipstick On is supposed to be based on the fragrance of old-fashioned powder and lipstick. On the surface, I wouldn't have expected to like this one. Powdery florals are, theoretically, not my 'thing'. But the first sample I was sent, with some items from Nordstrom, spilled in my handbag, and to my surprise, I loved it. It's evocative and feminine, old-fashioned without smelling musty or out of date. I had to get another sample to go on skin.

I might end up getting a full bottle of this, although I may need to add a leather scent to match the absolute heaven that has been my handbag for a few months. This is weird, and I kind of love it.

A good scent for what it is. It's accurate to the title, but just not for me. Too "powdery". I do appreciate its muskiness, and I see why others like it.
