Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle is an Amber fragrance for women and men

The unabashed sensuality of musk – the highest gravity to provoke savage carnality – is exhibited with a colossal pile of tangerine, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli, and a warm woody undertone. Musc Ravageur embodies the beguiling enchantment of a desert and presents its uncomfortable harshness as a marriage of passion and lament. It is an unapologetically sexy perfume.

Like this scent a lot. Perfect projection and sillage, not over done in my opinion. Could wear office or out and about.

Solid

Wasn’t the biggest fan of initial scent from the top notes, but the dry down is incredible. Well worth it, my new signature date night scent.

It’s normal nothing special

Boring

With a name like Ravageur, you’d expect something bold, maybe even feral. Instead, what you get is a sweetly tepid musk—Musc Timide would be a more fitting name. I know Frederic Malle commands a lot of respect, but aside from The Night, the house often feels like it’s designing for those who prefer their perfumes to whisper politely rather than leave a lasting impression. Respectable? Sure. Memorable? Not so much.

Great

Musc Ravageur is fast becoming a go to scent for the evenings. A terrific cologne.

Incense

On my skin this starts pretty spicy, cinnamon and cloves. It reminds me of trying to pick out an incense scent, standing in front of the counter with all the scents floating surrounding engulfing me. I appreciate the scent.

Not for me

I am a female who loves musc, pure musc not the laundry detergent powdery stuff they call musc these days. I read great reviews about this house, and this scent, but the way it translated to my nose is very archaic, like some musty old place with centuries of dust and neglect! Sad because I am sure it doesn’t smell like that for everyone! I will continue to search for my warm rich musc that I remember from years ago..alas, this isn’t it!
