Matcha Soft Serve

Very bold grassy matcha opening that dries down to a cozy green tea latte gourmand.

So fun! It makes me smile. Yes it has the matcha tea burst then it transitions to the sweetness of a Frappuccino - not literal- but in a perfume. This is what I wanted Valentino BIR Green Extravaganza to be. It also in the same family of Matcha Potion by Mischief Academy and Replica's Tea Escape.

I've been craving matcha scents all of a sudden and scoured this sight to find them. I love all the scent profiles it has separately, so I thought, "Why not?" Despite all the gourmand scents Matcha soft serve is surprisingly fresh/clean smelling and I love that!

Have gotten some compliments and some meh reactions but personally i think it’s overall very lovely. The initial smell is definitely matcha and while I cant describe it I definitely love what it fades into.

Matcha Soft Serve opens very realistic and green—like sifted matcha powder whisked into cool air. It’s slightly bitter at first, not sugary, with a soft vegetal edge that feels closer to ceremonial tea than a dessert fragrance. The “milk” is there but subtle, giving it a creamy haze rather than a full latte sweetness, so it stays airy and a bit dry rather than heavy or gourmand-syrupy.

As it develops, it turns smoother and more comforting—vanilla and a faint waffle cone accord start to round out the edges, adding a soft, milky sweetness. It never becomes overly dessert-like though; instead it stays restrained, slightly powdery, and close to the skin. The overall effect is a calm green tea soft serve moment—minimal, modern, and quietly addictive rather than loud or edible.

If you ever tried Matcha Meditation by Replica (before it discontinued), this is a pretty solid dupe for that. It opens up with a very realistic matcha scent, but then it dissipates into a sweeter green tea. No citrus notes are listed but I swear I pick up on something like orange blossom as it settles. It reads a little too perfumey for me and it’s not as sweet or delicious as it sounds. That being said, it’s still lovely, just not for my personal collection!

I have tried a sample of almost every D'Annam perfume and this is the best by far. I'm a gourmand girl and this is a go-to in my collection.

I really didn't think I would like this when I first smelled it, but I really enjoy it. The opening is matcha heavy, and it dries down to a creamy waffle cone scent. Performance is great! It's a buildable fragrance.

Opening is photorealistic opening a tin of matcha. No weird fishy smells like other matcha scents might have. Light, powdery, non-offensive. 5 minutes in if I sniff really close there is a slight plastic finish to the inhale. Plasticky scent grew stronger until 1 hour it went away, leaving a (light) lovely sweet creamy matcha tea close to my skin. Very little projection. It continues to get sweeter on my skin chemistry until it wears off ~4/5 hours.

I tried out d'Annam's Japan discovery set and loved Matcha Soft Serve and Sakura Snow. Both scents are great on their own, but also pair beautifully together. I didn't want to spend hundreds on two full sized bottles, so I'm glad I was able to get decants of both. Matcha Soft Serve is a lovely sweet green tea scent. The creamy sweetness is balanced by fresh, slightly bitter green notes. It smells divine on my skin.
