86 West
86 West is a Black male-owned fragrance brand founded from a shared passion for scent and the experiences associated with it. The brand was established in response to a perceived lack of diversity and inclusivity within the fragrance industry, with traditional gender classifications being challenged through a more inclusive approach to perfumery.
The name 86 West reflects the founders’ roots in Nebraska, where their partnership was formed. Inspired by the Midwest and Nebraska’s historical association with the region around 1886, the name was created as a reference to the brand’s origins.
Through its fragrance collections, 86 West is focused on redefining conventional fragrance experiences through inclusivity, authenticity, innovation, and scent compositions intended to be experienced without traditional gender constraints.
