Vert des Bois by Tom Ford is a Woody fragrance for women and men.
Vert Des Bois is a smart aromatic-spicy combination of peculiar woods, resins, and sharp spices that defies conventional standards with a highly intriguing opening of boozy ouzo accord full of anise and poplar tree buds. A touch of olive leaves and ripe plum give this opening a rather deeper depth. The heart layer is occupied with jasmine and enriched by mastic. The scent leaves a magnifying impression once settled to an end of roasted patchouli and tonka bean.

Starts a little harsh but the dry down is pleasant
I really like most of the Tom Ford scents I've ever encountered. Black orchid is my signature fall/winter fragrance and I have recently discovered a love of Santal blush. So I thought I would try vert de bois since I like unusual scents. However, this is one is not for me. I love masculine scents and have been known to wear men's cologne in the past. This is definitely masculine, to the point where I would not feel comfortable wearing it. It definitely has a "green" smell to it, a note I normally love. But this fragrance reminds me of one from Avon from the 70s....I can't remember the name of it, but it was a men's cologne, it came in one of the glass bottles, and this scent hits all those memories for me. It somehow manages to smell piney and powdery at the same time. Not sure how that's even possible. I might try to push this off on my husband, but I'm not even sure I want to smell it on him :(
