Best Season to wear Fève Délicieuse

Vanilla – Soft incense – Tobacco

Being released in spring 2015, Fève Délicieuse, for its distinct oriental profile, immediately succeeded to be a prominent top seller. While the whole market was occupied with oud-oriented fragrances, Dior looked through orientalism from a different angle using tonka bean.
The fragrance is aptly named and it gives the feeling once opened. The very essence of tonka bean – coumarin - which is capable for rich semi-gourmand hay-like tobacco odor, impacts on lavender and mint and plays a sizable role of gourmand drift in heart phase of the fragrance. Beside vanilla and caramel, tonka bean co-habits with leather and tenderly smoky benzoin. After hours, leftover of tobacco-like tonka bean gives way to the soft smoldering resin which is by all means an oriental carnival.
Dior Fève Délicieuse is a favorable early spring perfume to match for fresh air of day and shivering cold of night. It lights a candle and gives warm, welcoming sensations as much as it emphasizes on luxury with simplicity of its composition. A row of warm oriental and enigmatic ingredients used in their best quality, guarantees a favorable performance with high duration on skin. The fragrance also exhibits all its minor and major aspects clearly.

Cuir Cannage by Christian Dior

Acrid leather – powdery floral – soapy

"The house of Christian Dior made Cuir Cannage as an encomium to intriguingly delightful smell of inside of a leather bag. The aroma that triggers everyone’s childhood desire of smelling mom’s bag; a comfy powdery touch of satin inside, slightly stained with smell of face powder and other maquillage materials, plus sharp smell of leather of outside. Dior approaches to this particular smell borrowing traditional tannery characteristics of early 20th century’s brutal leather fragrances, and resign it with Dior’s elegant floralcy.
Fans of quintessential leather and who appreciate powdery tar-like leather fragrances take note. Cuir Cannage is by far one of the most loyal references to the essential beauty of leather at its very beginning. A reminiscent of grandeur of Art Deco epoch. Fragrance’s resolute opening demonstrates a touch of astringent leather, plus handful of green orange blossom and jasmine, that underline Cuir Cannage is not everyone’s favorable leather. It’s fascinatingly bitter and devoiding any clue of sweetness. From there iris, warm breeze of ylang ylang, and sensual rose ornament leather with powdery floral and soapy features.
Cuir Cannage is a steady fragrance in term of longevity. It performs much higher on skin that on fabric. Its great tenacity guarantees and arm-length projection makes it a great leather choice for cold weather and formal outfit."

Top 20 Niche Fragrances for Fall by Steven Gavrielatos

The perfume was created by in-house perfumer Francois Demachy as a sophisticated oriental gourmand harmony. Tonka bean smells like a mixture between caramel, almonds and cut hay, milky sweet, but also bitter. The composition includes notes of tonka bean, vanilla, caramel, cocoa, pralines and woody accords.

Tobacco Vanille  is a modern take on an old-world men’s club. A smooth oriental, Tobacco Vanille opens immediately with opulent essences of tobacco leaf and aromatic spice notes. The heart unfolds with creamy tonka bean, tobacco flower, vanilla and cocoa and finishes with dry fruit accord enriched with sweet wood sap.

Chergui is named for the dry, desert wind that tears through Morocco in summer and brings life to a standstill.  Like all of Lutens’ magnificent scent creations, Chergui is high art captured in a bottle, a magical elixir that can instantly turn the most elegant of wearers into slavish wrist sniffers.  It’s everything you’d wish for from a perfume named after a legendary wind…sandalwood with a touch of hot incense, honeyed leather and tobacco leaf, it’s quite sweet yet dry, spiced and mysterious.  No wimpy, cloying flowers or sticky, humid sugar here – Chergui is full bodied and complex and has a sweet spiciness that’s miles away from something girlish or cute.  It’s true poetry in a perfume… a hot and breathtaking fragrance that’s not tame and not at all familiar.

Enigma Also Known as Creation-E should be mysterious and irresistible and Roja Dove has certainly kept his word: characterized by ambivalence, Enigma inimitably oscillates between its poles. Cool and equally warm, fruity and fresh, but still powdery and skin-close with a subtle sweetness that is difficult to describe. Bergamot illuminates the fragrance with a tart citric brightness, while the heart cozy’s up with a bouquet of gorgeous flowers, more precisely, rose, geranium, neroli and jasmine, which provide on the one hand freshness, on the other hand creaminess. Heliotrope lends a vanilla-almondy impression, which deliciously accentuated by the warmth of the base. This is a masterpiece in itself: warm, soft and liqueur-like wonderfully spiced and sweetened by resins. Tobacco leaves set accents, as well as tart, fruity ginger along with pepper and cardamom. Patchouly lends Enigma more body and depth, while the precious woods perfectly perfect the creation.

Unabashedly opulent. There is nothing minimal about this celebratory elixir and we couldn’t be happier about that. Let’s face it, sometimes more is more. Jubilation XXV features the prized frankincense of the Sultanate of Oman, but this is not a meditative, stone cathedral type of incense fragrance. This is a lavish bazaar, packed to the brim with all of the treasures of 1001 nights. The silver frankincense weaves through burnished woods, luscious fruits and blood-warming spices. It teases the elusive rock rose and the ever-so-grand orchid and wraps itself around luxurious opoponax and amber. The opening is sweet and honeyed, with a hint of bitterness that reminds us of the aftertaste that lets you know when a fruity liqueur is going to pack a wallop. . As the scent mellows, it becomes richer and the wood notes become prominent. In spite of the litany of intense and dark-sounding notes, this never becomes gothic or moody. The aura is warm and velvety and extremely content, like you are leaning against a great golden lion who is purring like a race car. This is designed for men, yet somewhere deep down inside we know there is no way the women of the world are going to let the guys keep something this fantastic all to themselves.
